Another 150 primary and early childhood institutions are to benefit from the Tablets in Schools programme.
That’s according to Finance Minister Audley Shaw, speaking at this week’s sitting of the Standing Finance Committee of Parliament.
The $1.4-billion Tablets in Schools programme began in September 2014.
Under the programme, some 25,000 tablet computers have been distributed to teachers and students in 38 schools islandwide.
Minister Shaw says 80 tablets will be provided to each school.
Shaw says this phase of the programme will focus on boosting the literacy and numeracy of primary and pre-primary students.
The finance minister indicated that the current phase of the programme will end in June.
