2017 Tourism Performance Better than 4yrs Combined


Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, says the sector’s performance in 2017 accomplished in one year more than it did in four years combined.

He says last year’s performance was unprecedented.

At the end of 2017, the country welcomed more than 4-million visitors. This was a 12-percent increase over the previous year, 2016.

The Minister says revenues earned from tourism also topped records.

Minister Bartlett also praised the growth of the AirBnB market.

The Tourism Minister was addressing the official opening of Knutsford Express Depot at the Sangster International Airport in St James.

This is the second drop off and pick up location in St James for the 12-year-old company with islandwide operations.
