Opposition Spokesman on Industry and Investment, Peter Bunting, says the valuation report for Petrojam, being used by the Government would see most of the State-owned oil refinery’s staff being sent home.
Mr. Bunting says the valuation he has in his possession would also see the refinery closed.
The Holness administration has insisted the move to unilaterally reacquire Venezula’s 49-per cent stake in Petrojam is designed to safeguard Jamaica’s energy security.
Mr. Bunting says based on documents in his possession, there seems to be a shift in the government’s position. He’s demanding an explanation from the government.
