29,000 Persons Added to the Workforce in 2017

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says the country has seen an additional 29,000 persons employed last year.

The Minister says, of this figure, eleven thousand is from the tourism industry.

Mr Bartlett says his team is forecasting that, in the next three years, the country will see an additional 33,000 jobs being provided in the tourism sector.

Minister Bartlett was speaking yesterday at the official opening ceremony of the Joy Spence Appleton Estate Rum Experience formally known as the Appleton Estate Rum Tour in St Elizabeth.
