Finance Minister, Audley Shaw, says 50,000 people are to be employed in the Business Process Outsourcing, BPO, sector by next year.
He says Jamaica’s location and language are favourable to the BPO sector. But the Minister says limited skilled labour is already proving to be challenging.
In the meantime, Minister Shaw says some 14,000 new hotel rooms are to be built in the next four years.
And he says the government has ambitious plans for the Caymanas Economic Zone and the Norman Manley International Airport.
The Customs Agency was celebrating International Customs Day.
