6-month old Shot Dead In St. James


The Police have launched an investigation into the shooting death of a 6-month old baby girl in St. James, which remains under a State of Emergency.

The child was shot and killed over the weekend.

Three others were also injured.

The child has been identified as Tira Thompson of Hollywood in Hendon, Norwood.

Reports from the Montego Hills Police are that about 8:20 Saturday evening, patrons were at a bar when a car with men aboard approached them.

The men got out of the vehicle armed with guns and opened fire on the patrons and at a nearby house before leaving on foot.

The Police were summoned, and Tira along with the other injured persons were taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.  

Two of the injured persons were admitted in serious condition, while the other was treated and released
