Accountant General’s Office Protest Air Quality & Mould

Workers at the Accountant General’s Department in Kingston are protesting the state of their office building.

The Jamaica Civil Service Association, JCSA, which represents workers at the agency, says the workers are disgruntled about mould on the furniture.

First Vice President of the JCSA, Robert Chung, says the workers haven’t walked off the job but they’re refusing to work an entire shift.

He says the workers are planning to continue their industrial action today.

Robert Chung says the workers are concerned about the impact of the unsatisfactory office conditions on their health. He says they want to be relocated to another building.

The Accountant General’s Department was relocated to its current Oceana Boulevard office in Kingston in May.
