‘Act Quickly to Help Burnt-Out Redemption Vendors’, Opposition

Opposition spokesperson on Local Government, Dr. Angela Brown-Burke, is calling on the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation to act quickly to ensure vendors who sell in the Redemption Arcade in downtown, Kingston, are able to return to normal operations as soon as possible.

Firefighters had to put out a blaze at the market yesterday morning.

Reports are firefighters were summoned to the market at approximately 5 o’clock yesterday morning.

The fire affected containers and wooden structures. Firefighters say they still haven’t determined the cause of the fire.

Dr. Brown Burke says Kingston’s Mayor, Delroy Williams, should communicate with the vendors in the shortest possible time.

Dr. Brown Burke also offered her sympathies to the vendors who lost their goods in the fire at the arcade, which is commonly called Ray Ray Ground.
