Former Prime Minister, PJ Patterson says CARICOM requires a central body to ensure decisions taken at the regional level are acted upon in each state.
Mr. Patterson was speaking at the launch of his new book, My Political Journey, at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies in Barbados.
The book chronicles memoirs of the private and public exploits of Mr. Patterson, who served as Jamaica’s sixth Prime Minister for 14 years, from 1992 to 2006.
Mr. Patterson says he hopes his books can provide insights into tackling what affects each Caribbean nation.
The former Prime Minister also outlined what he considers some of the most pressing issues that affect the region.
