Four time Olympian, Alia Atkinson, equaled her world record in winning the women’s 100-metres breaststroke at the 2-day FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup, which started in France today.
Atkinson posted 1:2.36-seconds to finish ahead of Olympic bronze medalist Katie Meili.
President of the Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica, Handel Lamey, says this would act as a confidence booster following her 8th place finish in Rio.
Atkinson finished 2nd in the 200-metres medley with a time of 2:7.89 seconds.
The event went to Katinka Hosszu of Hungry in 2:6.64-seconds. She’s also down to contest the 50-metres breaststroke.
