A family friend of 25-year-old medical doctor, Megan Auden, who was killed in a car accident in Mandeville on Saturday, is refuting accounts of the accident reported in the media.
Several media houses have reported that Dr. Auden’s vehicle skidded on a wet road, causing her to crash into two other vehicles.
An official statement from the Constabulary Communications Unit, CCU, only says she lost control of the vehicle.
But the friend, Andre Rickards, is now claiming that the accident was caused by two taxis that were racing along the roadway.
Mr. Rickards further alleges that the cause of the accident is being covered up.
Acting Officer in Charge of the Manchester Police, Deputy Superintendent Glenn Miller, says police are investigating the allegations.
