A bail application for England McCrane, the woman who is accused of being a fake doctor, has been delayed again, this time until Monday.
Miss McCrane, who has been referred to as ‘England McCrane’ and ‘Dr McCrane’, was charged by Area One Fraud Squad, as well as by Corporate Area police for offences including forgery, obtaining money by false pretence, and breaches of the Medical Act.
This is the second such delay in the case.
Two weeks ago, McCrane’s lawyer, Martyn Thomas told the St James Parish Court that he intended to apply for bail for his client.
However, this was delayed as presiding judge, Sandra Wong Small was not willing to grant the accused bail until her real name was verified.
When the case was called up in the St James Parish Court yesterday, Mr Thomas told the court that the person with whom Miss McCrane is to live, was not able to make it to court due to difficulty leaving work.
However, he said the woman indicated that any other day would be possible, once it could be accommodated.
Following deliberations, they agreed on Monday, June 3.
