Opposition Spokesman on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Edmund Barttlet, is welcoming yesterday’s move by US President Barack Obama to remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Obama’s decision follows a review by the US State Department into Cuba’s links with terrorist organizations or individuals.
Mr. Bartlett says the decision will open the door for greater cooperation among countries in the Northern Caribbean.
Mr. Bartlett says with Cuba removed from the terror list, the US now needs to lift its executive decree on Venezuela.
Under the terns of the decree, Venezuela is designated as a threat to national security in the United States.
