Bill To Establish ICT Authority Goes To Senate


The Upper House of Parliament has moved to pass the Information and Communications Technology, ICT, Authority Act into law.

Senater Pearnel Charles Jr. piloted the bill through the Senate on Friday.

According to Senator Charles Jr., the ICT Authority Act will create a statutory body.

He says the legislation is important as it falls in line with the government’s ICT push.

Meanwhile, Senator Lambert Brown says if this bill is passed, the regulation governing the bill should also be forthcoming.

Both were speaking on Friday in the Upper House.

The ICT Authority Bill was passed at the committee stage with one amendment.
