The Bank of Jamaica is advertising for a new position of Executive Director of Financial Markets.
They’ve also promoted two new Deputy Governors, following the early retirement of Deputy Governor Livingstone Morrison.
The appointments come amidst criticism that the BOJ has been slow to react to changes in the foreign exchange market.
The BOJ Governor says the new positions are not a response to those criticisms, but rather a recognition that they’re engaged in a very ambitious transformation of the foreign exchange market.
Additionally, the Central Bank has also recruited Noel Greenland to lead its new communications strategy.
Greenland, who was a Senior Vice President at Grace Kennedy Money Services, took over as the BOJ’s Executive Director for Communications in December.
