“Bring back our baby!” is the heart-wrenching plea from the parents of the now three-day-old baby who was stolen from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The baby’s father, Sinclair Hutton, says his wife went to what he calls ‘death’s road’ to deliver a healthy baby and it’s painful to know the baby was abducted only hours after his birth. He’s also chiding the hospital’s management for the lax security measures at the facility.
The father says he’s convinced the abduction of his newborn son is an inside job. The distraught parents were speaking last evening on Nationwide @ 5 with Cliff Hughes and Tyrone Reid.
Tuesday’s baby-stealing incident is the second to have happened in just under a week. The other child-stealing incident happened at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James.
That baby has been reunited with its mother and a woman was arrested and charged in relation to the abduction that occurred last Friday. Both Ms White and Mr Hutton are hoping against hope that they too will be reunited with their baby.
Suzette White says she’s yet to come to grips with the fact that her child was taken by a stranger from the hospital where he should have been safe. Her common-law husband, Sinclair Hutton, says the hospital administration has questions to answer about the strange woman who was allowed on the compound outside of visiting hours.
He says to make matters worse, some members of the hospital’s staff are accusing his wife of selling their baby.
He says the ward on which his wife was admitted has one exit, which also serves as the entrance.
So, Mr Hutton is convinced that the person who abducted his son could not have escaped without alerting someone. It’s why he says he’ll be taking legal action against the hospital.
In the meantime, he’s joining his wife in pleading for the return of their baby.
