PNP Vice President, Senator Angela Brown-Burke, says she’ll be seeking re-election to the post.
Dr. Brown Burke is now the fifth member of the party to signal an interest in the 4 Vice-presidential positions within the party.
She says she doesn’t intend to form an alliance with any of the other two MPs with an interest in replacing Portia Simpson Miller as Party President.
Senator Brown-Burke says she supports Portia Simpson Miller retaining the leadership of the PNP.
Nomination for various posts in the PNP will open in July ahead of the party’s annual conference in September.
Meanwhile, Dr. Brown Burke says she had no ill-intent when she shared an article on her Facebook page yesterday, which questions whether the MP for South East St. Ann, Lisa Hanna, stabbed Mrs. Simpson Miller in the back. She says on-lookers are making a mountain out of a molehill.
The Mayor says she has no definitive position on the issue. She says she shared the article to generate a conversation.
