Bunting Calls on PM to Remove Franklin from ECJ

Former People’s National Party Nominated Member of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica, ECJ, Peter Bunting, is calling on Prime Minister Andrew Holness to remove Aundre Franklin from the electoral body.

His call comes as Former Director of Elections, Orrette Fisher, has released letters to the public, which he wrote to the ECJ, claiming that Mr. Franklin had threatened and disrespected him.

Mr. Bunting says Mr. Franklin’s abuse of Mr. Fisher started as soon as Mr. Franklin joined the ECJ in 2010.

Mr. Bunting was speaking last evening with Kemesha Kelly and Cliff Hughes on Nationwide @ 5.

They asked him if he would describe Mr. Franklin’s conduct as political interference.

He says he’s disappointed the independent members of the ECJ declined to disclose the details of Mr Fisher’s letters to the PNP nominated members of the commission.

Several attempts by Nationwide News to contact Mr. Franklin via telephone were unanswered.
