Bus Service Resumes in August Town After Violence Forces Suspension

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC has resumed service to the Bryce Hill community in the trouble August Town area.

JUTC had suspended its service yesterday following the shooting of four persons in the area- one fatally.

Director of Communications at JUTC, Cecil Thoms spoke with Nationwide News.

He says the JUTC will continue to monitor the situation. He says if the situation should flare up again, the JUTC will seek further consultation with the police to determine its course of action.

Some 14 people have reportedly been shot in August town in just over two weeks. Six of the fourteen have been fatal.
