Cancer Survivor, Sen. Dr. Longmore Urges Dr. Haughton To Step Back and Assess Role as Senator


Government Senator, Dr Saphire Longmore, is urging one of her Opposition counterpart, Dr Andre Haughton to step back and assess his role as a Senator.

Dr. Longmore was reacting to a controversial comment Dr. Haughton made during last Friday’s sitting of the Upper House.

Dr Haughton has been hammered by social media users for comments he made in the Senate on Friday.

He rose to pay tribute to breast cancer victims and survivors in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month but said this as well.

Dr Longmore, who’s also a cancer survivor, says this is how she reacted to Dr Haughton’s comment.

She says several women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer have refused to undergo a mastectomy.
