Chamber of Commerce Urges PSC to Appoint New Police Commissioner

The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, JCC, is calling on the Police Service Commission, PSC, to appoint a new commissioner of police in a timely manner.

CEO of the JCC, Trevor Fearon, spoke today with our news centre.

The period of accepting applicants for the position of police commissioner closed last Friday.

According to Mr. Fearon, the JCC believes the best-qualified person should be given the position. He says that person doesn’t have to be a Jamaican citizen and can come from the top rank of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Meanwhile, the JCC is commending the JCF on their recent high visibility initiative.
