Chamber Wants Clarity on Cabinet’s Krauck Stance

The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, JCC is calling for the Simpson Miller administration to clarify its stance regarding the Krauck Group and Anchor Finance’s interest in Jamaica’s logistics hub.

On Wednesday a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister said Cabinet will no longer continue negotiations with Krauck following a recommendations from Professor Gordon Shirley’s. National Logistics Initiative Council, NLIC.

However, the OPM said Cabinet had given the Industry Ministry permission to continue discussions with Kruack.

JCC President Warren McDonald says Cabinet’s decision requires clarification.

Anchor Finance LLC is a faith-based financing group. If you notice the names of its directors – the financing is based on shariah laws. The group is Muslim financed so it will find the money and make the investment based on shariah compliance. Hylton may have explained this to the PM so he was told by her to continue with the discussions. We need to be careful what we want.
