The local BPO sector has been growing since 2010. Employment in the industry has moved from approximately 12,000 in 2011 to more than 18-thousand at the end of last year.

Dr. Chang says the Government also wants Jamaica to have a competitive edge in health care outsourcing. But he says Jamaicans will need to be trained to take on the demands of the industry.
