Cabinet Minister, Senator Pearnel Charles Junior, is to meet with Members of Parliament and Councillors in areas affected by drought conditions to discuss and create a water trucking schedule.
Mr Charles is the Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement in the House of Representatives on Tuesday evening, as he unveiled a near $6-billion budget to renovate water facilities across the island over the next five years.
He says while no drought has been declared nationally, several areas are experiencing a dry spell, including Portland, St Mary, parts of Clarendon and St Elizabeth.
The Prime Minister notes that projections for increased rainfall this month, have not materialized.
He says if the dry spell worsens, the government may allocate more funds to address the water challenges.
