Chinese Wholesaler Returns to Court to Answer Trademark Act Breaches

A Chinese national facing charges of possession of $12-million worth of uncustomed goods and a breach of the Trademark Act returns to the St Catherine Parish Court today.

The accused, Rong Ping Chen, is of a Spanish Town, St. Catherine address.

Police reports are on September 21, 2017, Customs Officers raided Chen’s wholesale at 10 French Street in Spanish Town and allegedly seized an assortment of brand name goods.

Police say the goods included brand name footwear from international shoe manufacturers such as Puma, Jordan, Nike and Clarks. Chen was subsequently arrested and charged.
