Christanya Shirley of the Marlins Swim club was one of the standout performers at the Swim Jamaica sprints meet, at the Stadium pool on Saturday.
A total of 15 records were broken at the meet with 14 being meet records and one national age group record.
The 10-year-old Shirley a recently crowned national champion was responsible for records in the 9-10 girls 50-metres Backstroke, 50-metres Freestyle and 50-metres Butterfly.
In the Backstroke Shirley clocked 37.01-seconds to lower the previous record of 38.94.
Shirley second record came in the Freestyle in a time 0f 30.75-seconds to erase the old record of 32.04-seconds.
She says living up to her father’s expectations in the 50-metres freestyle was her high point of the meet.
