The Kingston and St Andrew Corporation will be relaxing its policy on vending in certain parts of the downtown commercial district until January 3 next year.
Mayor of Kingston, Angela Brown Burke, says the Corporation is trying to be fair to vendors and will allow them to sell their wares on the sidewalks of Beckford Street, Princess street, West Street, West Queen Street and South Parade.
However, the Mayor is reiterating the zero tolerance policy towards vending on the streets.
She says vendors will not be allowed to sell from vehicles on the streets.
Head of the Kingston West Police, Senior Superintendent, Steve McGregor, says the police will be cracking down on those who violate the temporary rules.
