Chung Fumes over Income Taxes form Top Earners

Chief Executive Officer of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, PSOJ Dennis Chung, is again criticizing the Government’s decision to increase the income tax for persons who earn $6-million or more annually.

Mr. Chung says the move is a step in the wrong direction.

However – Mr. Chung says the Government’s decision to pursue indirect taxation measures as opposed to direct taxation is a step in the right direction.

Mr. Chung says there may be an absence of political will to institute the necessary comprehensive reforms to the tax system.
