CISOCA Probing Abandonment of Baby

The Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, CISOCA, is investigating how a 15 year old girl was sexually abused resulting in her giving birth.

The teenage mother abandoned her 1-day old baby girl at the Chapleton Community Hospital in Clarendon on the weekend.

Head of the Clarendon Police, Senior Superintendent Fitz Bailey, says checks are being made to verify whether the teenage mother is 15 or 16 years old.

SSP Bailey says CISOCA has opened a formal investigation to determine whether the man who got her pregnant should be charged with carnal abuse.

The1-day old baby girl was found alive in a shoe box on the grounds of the hospital on Sunday.

Her mother was picked up by the Police yesterday and is being treated at hospital.
