A Jamaican flight attendant, Rohan Myers, has pleaded guilty to smuggling more than six pounds of cocaine in his spandex underwear on a flight to Fort Lauderdale from Montego Bay in St. James.
The incident happened on board a Caribbean Airlines flight.
Investigators say Myers became very nervous and started sweating, when they searched his luggage and asked about a pair of athletic compression pants in one bag.
They say Myers then said that he had cocaine on him that he was supposed to take it to a hotel.
Myers told the Police that a man in Jamaica had recruited him to smuggle the drugs.
They say he then removed another pair of compression pants, revealing four packages containing cocaine that were taped to his thighs and ankles.
Myers pleaded guilty to a drug-smuggling charge on Wednesday.
His attorney says he hopes to persuade a judge to impose a lesser sentence than the expected three years.
