Committee Reviewing Data Protection Bill Reconvenes

A Joint Select Committee of Parliament set up to review the Data Protection Bill reconvened this afternoon following a delay of more than 1-year

Technology Minister, Fayval Williams chaired the meeting.

Minister Williams explained the delay.

Minister Williams this afternoon gave members of the committee copies of a summary of the various submissions made to the government about the data protection bill.

The summary is to be reviewed by the committee.

Minister Williams says the committee will be seeking to wrap up its deliberations after two more meetings.

The Technology Minister reiterated the context in which the Government is pressing ahead with the Data Protection bill.

Fitz-Henley is also the recipient of the PM Youth Award for Excellence. Over the years, he has appeared as a guest on the BBC World Service and BBC London.
