Constant Spring Road in St. Andrew has been closed in the vicinity of Market place to repair a collapsed section of the roadway and underlying sewage system.
Manager for Communications and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, says the road was closed at of 4:00 this afternoon.
Police were alerted to a breakaway at the north section of the road just below the entrance to the Marketplace complex, at about 7:00 this morning.
It left a hole about five feet wide that almost swallowed a female motorist’s car.
Another section of the road on the opposite side also collapsed
Mr. Shaw says traffic will be diverted.
