Construction on Western Justice Complex To Begin Next Year

Justice Minister Delroy Chuck says construction is expected to start on the long-awaited Western Justice Complex in St James by the end of March next year.

In February 2017, the Minister announced that efforts were underway to secure lands in Bogue,St James for the construction of the justice complex to improve the justice system in the parish.

Since then he says two properties to include a National Water Commission property located on Lower Bevin Avenue, Montego Bay have been viewed.

It’s understood the delays in finding a suitable location have resulted in the rerouting of funds earmarked for the project.

The complex is expected to be completed within two years of the start of construction.

Minister Chuck says the challenge now is ensuring soil conditions are suitable for construction at the selected site.
