Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Audley Shaw, is dismissing claims that parrot fish consumption is harmful to the nation’s coral reefs.

Environmentalists have been calling for a national ban on parrot fishing, claiming it’s removal from the ocean, is leading to a depletion of useful coral reefs.

Minister Shaw says he notes the concerns.

But, he says research and consultations with the experts, have found that there is no conclusive evidence to support those concerns.
