A Police Constable is being accused of killing a man on Saturday night.
Dead is 28-year-old Rishawn Oliver. According to the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, CCU, Rishawn was killed in Point Hill, St. Catherine.
But speaking with our news centre from Florida yesterday, Rishawn’s father, Errol alleges his son was killed because he was involved in an intimate relationship with the Constable’s grandmother.
Errol Oliver says one of the last times he spoke with his son; Rishawn had called him to say he felt his life was in danger.
He says his son reportedly recognised his attacker, uttering his name as he drew his last breath.
According to Mr. Oliver, there were signs of a struggle at the scene. He says he’s appalled at the alleged behaviour of a man who was supposed to be protecting life.
The police say they’ve taken a Constable into custody for Rishawn’s death. The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, says they’re also investigating.
