Coronavirus: Athletics Association Closely Monitoring Outbreak

President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association, JAAs, Dr. Warren Blake, says World Athletics is paying close attention to the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.

The East Asian country is set to host the World Athletics Indoor Championships from March 13-15.

The Championships will take place approximately 450-kilometres from the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the deadly outbreak.

Over 80-people have so far been killed by the virus, with over 2- thousand-8-hundred confirmed cases.

Blake says a decision will be taken closer to the date if the Championships should be cancelled.

He says the athletes can be assured that the association has their best interest at heart.
