Customs Collects $119 Billion in 8 Months

The Customs Agency has collected approximately $119-billion for the April to November period this year.

Commissioner of Customs, Major Richard Reese, says the revenue performance was approximately $14-billion dollars above target.

Major Reese says the Customs Agency has so far collected just under three-quarters of its annual target, with average monthly takings of $15 billion.

Meanwhile, Major Reese says the Customs Agency seized over $230-million dollars worth of cocaine at the ports of entry, between April 1 and November 30 this year.

The Customs Agency has also seized $11-million worth of marijuana over same time.

Major Reese says a quantity of cash, in various currencies has also been seized.
