Jamaica Constabulary Force detectives are at this hour searching for a baby who was born less than 24 hours ago.

Reports are that the baby was reportedly kidnapped from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston this morning.

Head of the Constabulary’s Corporate Communication’s Unit, CCU, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, Dahlia Garrick, says the baby’s mother raised an alarm after returning from the restroom to find that her baby was missing.

This is the second newborn to be kidnapped in the last 5-days. On Friday, a three week old was kidnapped at the Cornwall Regional Hospital after the baby’s mother asked a woman who befriended her to watch the baby.

The mother reportedly went to use the restroom after leaving the hospital’s pharmacy. The police found the baby on Sunday in Norwood in St. James.

The alleged kidnapper and her boyfriend were taken into custody.
