Dean Roy Bernard To Resume Duties as Permanent Secretary at MOE

Former Permanent Secretary in the Education Ministry, Dean Roy Bernard, has been granted leave, by the Supreme Court, to resume his duties at the Ministry.

Mr Bernard was appointed Permanent Secretary at the Education Ministry in November 2016.

He was re-assigned to fill a Director post in the Finance Ministry, in February this year.

He challenged the government’s decision, and was granted an injunction, which prevented the Education Ministry from filling the post with a permanent appointment.

Dr Grace McLean was acting in the post. Marc Williams is Mr Bernard’s attorney.

He says the final hearing next February will determine if Mr Bernard’s transfer was consistent with the constitution.
