The Education Minister, Ruel Reid, says despite a 22-per cent decline in passes for this year’s sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate, CSEC, Integrated Science exam, there’s no need for the nation to panic.

Minister Reid says he’ll be seeking to ascertain the reason for the significant decline.

Asked if the poor showing in Integrated Science was a blow to the government’s present focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, the STEM fields, Minister Reid said the results aren’t fatal.
