Reports emerging out of the United States are that Montego Bay-based disc jockey and entertainment producer, Christopher Samuels, has been detained for drug trafficking.

Samuels is more popularly known as Crazy Chris. 25-year-old stylist and Jamaican national, Keshon Hawthorne, is also in custody in connection with the same case. Both remain in the custody of US law enforcement this morning.

Samuels was arrested on cocaine charges earlier this week by the Charlotte Police Department in North Carolina.

Hawthorne was also taken into custody following his arrival at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

According to US media, Hawthorne arrived in Charlotte on a flight from Montego Bay. The cocaine was allegedly discovered during an inspection of his luggage.

The police say two days later, Samuels landed at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, also from Montego Bay, and was detained after it was determined that he used his luggage to smuggle cocaine.

The total weight of the cocaine seized from the Jamaicans was more than six pounds. The drugs have an estimated street value of 90-thousand US dollars.

Both men were arrested for importation of a controlled substance, and were turned over to Home Security investigators.

Samuels was subsequently slapped with charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and two counts of trafficking cocaine.

Hawthorne is reportedly facing similar charges. Hawthorne is a stylist for several prominent entertainment personalities in Jamaica
