Finance Minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke, says the government wants to create an environment where people with ideas for businesses aren’t afraid to fail.
The Finance Minister was speaking at a forum on innovation and growth today.
That’s what the Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke wants Jamaicans to do, especially young people trying their hand at a new business.
Dr. Clarke says many famous people, including Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, and Digicel’s Dennis O’Brien have failed dramatically at some point in their careers, on their path to global success. He says this would’ve doomed their careers if they lived in Jamaica. Dr. Clarke wants to change that.
The Finance Minister says he’s working on ways to change this culture. One of his ideas is a number of failure fora.
