President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, PSOJ, Howard Mitchell, is warning the government not to deceive Jamaicans.
He was responding to complaints of poor conditions in detention centers under the State of Public Emergency in St James.
Last week the Public Defender, Arlene Harrison Henry, revealed that detainees were being held in inhumane conditions.
Mr. Mitchell says he notes what he calls a definite effort by the security forces to improve on their delivery of justice.
He says the government should have made it clear that it lacked the capacity to properly conduct the operations under the State of Public Emergency.
