Veteran broadcaster, Dorraine Samuels, is seriously ill.
The RJR Gleaner Group says Dorraine is currently recovering from surgery. The group says it notes concerns that have arisen about her health. In a statement this afternoon, it says she continues to receive treatment.
The RJR Gleaner group requested the respect of privacy at this time and especially asked that the speculations and pronouncements in social media regarding Ms. Samuels stop.
Dorraine Samuels has worked at RJR for almost 40-years. She retired in January of this year from television news. She joined RJR shortly after she placed fifth in the Miss Jamaica World competition in 1980 at 18-years-old.
