Drought Crisis in West Kingston – McKenzie

The MP for West Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, says the drought has caused a crisis in his constituency.

Mr. McKenzie says residents of Tivoli, Denham Town, Hannah Town and surrounding communities have been in desperate need of water, long before the drought.

Mr. McKenzie says the authorities must remember that West Kingston is home to the largest general health care facility in the English speaking Caribbean, along with several schools and other public health centres.

He says some residents have resorted to dangerous means, in a desperate effort to access water.

Meanwhile Mr. McKenzie is also lamenting the lack of leadership being demonstrated by Water Minister, Robert Pickersgill.
