A Twenty-three-year-old female vendor who’s charged with child trafficking is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court today.
She’s Mary-Ann Downie, of Kingston 14.
Downie, is also facing charges of having information that a child has been sexually ill-treated, failing to report a child in need of care and protection and living off the earnings of prostitution.
She was arrested after police visited premises in Kingston 14, and allegedly found two girls- aged 13 and 14- in her company.
Both girls were previously reported missing.
Police allege that the girls, who were from Portland, were deemed to be victims of human trafficking.
One of the girls allegedly told the police they were taken by Downie, to several locations where they were made to have sex with men for money.
