Four Costa Ricans are among 11 people who were arrested in connection with the seizure of 1,000 pounds of ganja in Sweet River District, Westmoreland yesterday.
Two cars were also seized in the drug bust.
Reports from the Westmoreland Police are about 11 o’clock yesterday morning, police were carrying out an operation in the district when they discovered a makeshift shed in bushes.
Several men and a woman were discovered in the process of compressing and packaging ganja. The drugs and the cars were seized and eleven persons were arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
The ganja has an estimated street value of JMD$4-million. The identities of the eleven persons are being withheld pending further investigations.
