Franklyn “Chappie” St, Juste, Filmaker and University Lecturer Dies


Filmmaker and former UWI Lecturer, Franklyn “Chappie” St, Juste has died.

He passed away at home this morning shortly before midday.

It’s understood Mr St Juste had been ailing for some time.

He was in his mid-80s.

His passing has sent shockwaves throughout the media and culture fraternities.

Mr St Juste left Trinidad and came to Jamaica where he sought to revolutionize the media and film landscapes.

Among those mourning his passing is Culture and Entertainment Minister, Olivia Grange.

She also offered condolences to his loved ones including his children, Brian, Francois and Maya.

Noted actress, Leonie Forbes says the news of Mr St Juste’s passing has left her in shock.

Meanwhile, veteran Broadcaster and former Lecturer at the Caribbean School of Media and Communication, Fae Ellington, says she refuses to mourn the passing of her friend and former colleague.
