Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, is defending his nation’s citizenship by investment program.
The Citizenship by investment program requires people to make a significant economic contribution to the State, in exchange for the opportunity to become citizens.
The program is also practiced in Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and Grenada.
But, there are concerns such programs could damage CARICOM’s relationship with foreign countries.
Speaking with the media, at the 39th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Governement of Caricom, in Montego Bat St. James, Prime Minister Browne said there’s no need for concerns.
