American sprinter Justin Gatlin says he’s still hurting from being beaten by Usain Bolt in the 100metres at the Beijing world championships.
Gatlin says it’s the toughest loss of his career, as he feels as if he let himself down.
He says defeat was made worse by the fact that in losing to bolt, he ran one of his slowest times of the season.
Gatlin says he failed to do in Beijing what he had been doing all season long and is especially upset with how his race fell apart somewhere around the last 20metres of the short sprint.
He says that’s something he’ll regret going into the new season.
